Jonathan Phillips is the owner and operator of Team Phillips Fishing, based in Wetumpka, Alabama, where he specializes in guided crappie trips on the Coosa and Alabama Rivers. He is also a 20-year veteran of Montgomery Fire Rescue and currently serves as a District Fire Chief.
Jonathan has been involved in the outdoors — particularly angling — since the age of four. Family has always been his top priority, and that passion has grown even stronger over the past decade as he and his wife, Alicia, began competing together on national and state crappie trails. Their experience includes tournaments such as Crappie Masters, National Crappie League, Central Alabama Crappie Club, Alabama Crappie Trail, American Crappie Trail, Crappie USA, and the Mr. Crappie Invitational, earning multiple victories and state championships along the way.
In recent years, Jonathan’s older son, Wyatt, (big brother to Stetson) has developed a strong passion for fishing and now competes alongside his father as a tournament partner. Jonathan’s mission is to nurture Wyatt’s love for angling and the outdoors while inspiring other young anglers to follow a positive path. Wyatt has already made a name for himself, earning the 2023 Alabama Crappie Trail Youth Angler of the Year title and a third-place finish at the 2023 Mr. Crappie Invitational.
Above all tournament results, Team Phillips Fishing strives to be a positive example for families—encouraging others to enjoy the outdoors and create lasting memories together.
